Nicholas Toth and Kathy Schick receive honorary doctorates from Tbilisi State University, Republic of Georgia

On Monday, September 23rd, Co-Directors Kathy Schick and Nicholas Toth received honorary doctorates from Tbilisi State University, Georgia’s oldest and largest university, for their contributions to Georgian Archaeology. In its 101-year history it has bestowed 120 of these honorary degrees. An incredible Georgian choir performed at the ceremony from the balcony. Two other people also received doctorates, including the tall gentleman on the right in the group photo, H.S.H. (His Serene Highness), Heinrich von Liechtenstein, Prince of Liechtenstein, and a professor of financial management (also a board member of the John Templeton Foundation, a major supporter of our research and science education missions). Photo of Co-Directors Schick and Toth was taken by Prince Heinrich.
